I am Edward Martin, a recent graduate from the Cardiff University MSc Advanced Computer Science course. I've got a passion for computer science, computer programming and education which is why I am a tutor here at TutorsValley! I'm a friendly, easy going young man who loves breaking down complex topics and helping those around me. That's why I was the MSc Advanced Computer Science course representative at Cardiff University, as well as the BSc Computer Science course representative at the University of York. But can I teach? After getting my BSc I moved to China to work as a TEFL (Teach English as a Foreign Language) teacher. It was incredibly difficult, not only because I was brand new to teaching but because my Mandarin was awful and I had up to 60 students in a class. That experience taught me a lot, namely how to communicate with students effectively, break down difficult problems into learnable tasks, and how to pace lessons to keep my students engaged. When COVID-19 appeared I had to leave China (yes it was incredibly stressful) and teach remotely from the UK. So can I teach? Yes! But can I program? Check out my GitHub page linked below. You can see some of the projects I have worked on recently and you can decide for yourself! Other than the Python, Haskell and Clingo programs on my GitHub I have plenty of experience working in Java, C++ and Visual Basic. Whether you want tutoring in programming a specific language, in computer science concepts and algorithms or AI, I am more than happy to help. My GitHub page: https://github.com/edwardmartin9818
